How to stop caring about what people think! I made a podcast episode on Spotify about this topic, as well as touching on bimboism again, so feel free to check it out if you want.
LIFESTYLE SECTION:
"The best way to deal with internet trolls is to ignore them and it works." - Trisha Paytas
It can be very hard to ignore people's opinions of you, whether it is online or even in real life. But this section will teach you how to stop caring about what people think.
- If it makes you happy, then do it. No one's opinions should truly matter unless you're doing something wrong
- Go befriend a random stranger (that looks your age range), just do it, compliment them and see where it goes. If you can talk to a random stranger, you can never say you're anxious ever again
- Give a compliment a day, don't refrain
- Blast your music so loud that no thoughts can hold you back
- People's perception of you doesn't matter because you can't change the way they perceive you but you can change the way you perceive yourself
- Remember even your favorite celebrities get judged, even though they seem super perfect to you, to others they are not, so you're not going to be any different
- Whenever you're nervous or overthinking, keep repeating one word or image in your head over and over again until it just disappears, this works for me, I just say "pink, pink, pink"
- Remember one positive thing someone has said to you before and hold onto it, every compliment counts, even the "little" ones
- Wear your favorite substyles everyday until you're comfortable, if you truly see yourself wearing this for a very long time, then you need to become comfortable
- Sometimes people have different reasons for staring at you, not everyone is judging you, they could want to compliment you but don't know how to, most people in public are shy
- Go out with friends who literally get rid of your social anxiety, having friends who you can be super loud with and not care is truly an amazing experience
- Imagine yourself as your favorite character
- Repeat positive things to yourself in your head and truly absorb it - believe it
- Never play sad music again, emotions and music somehow correlate and there have been some studies about this, play happy and upbeat music as you go out, you'll perceive life in a better manner
- Nothing is ever embarrassing, people forget in a week
- Start doing things for your own validation, not for others. "Does this make me happy?"
- Start assuming people want to impress you, instead of saying "Will they like me?" say "Will I like them?", instead of "Will they want to hang out with me?", ask yourself, "Will I want to hang out with them?" etc etc
- There are people out there who do appreciate you for who you are
- We live on a floating rock, just think about it that way, nothing truly matters in the end
- Treat yourself like a 'song', (in the sense that), people either like it or they don't like it, at the end of the day no one's opinions make the song better or worse, it's just a song - same with you as an individual
- When you're old, you'll regret stressing so much about trivial things
- There are people out there who are probably worrying what you think about them, too. The cycle will always continue.
- Start taking up hobbies that interest you, start surprising people
- People reject what feels 'foreign' for them, it has nothing to do with you
- People usually project how they feel onto you. A girl who wears a full face of makeup is "insecure" but the person saying that just doesn't know how to do makeup and are insecure about their bare face. They think someone's style is "ugly" but they don't have the confidence to stand out and wear what they want to wear. The cycle continues, most people are just projecting their insecurities, sometimes it may be people who don't even know you or online
- Go on a frequent social media detox, remember when the internet feels like a weight on your shoulder, you have the option to click off, you can filter comments on Tiktok, delete comments that you don't like on your posts, curate your social media feed to show only what you like, create this paradise place for you on social media so you do not have to interact with negative things that do not resonate with you.
- Cut off friends who make you feel bad about yourself
- Surround yourself with positive people
- Have positive role models
- Watch people on Tiktok who seem to have no anxiety
